Last Thursday we had a Whetu Fun Day as our camp was postponed.  Our teachers planned a fun day for us instead!  We participated in a Whetu Amazing Race, a range of different fun rotations, a BBQ lunch, and play on the council playground then we finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt and an ice block. My favorite part of the Amazing Race was running around town with my group and finding eggs around town with codes on them. I was in a group with Tayla, Shirley, Haven, Lola, and Scarlett. We had a lot of fun doing under and over at the netball court and doing the puzzle at the hockey turf but most of all the selfes!!! After we did all the codes and tasks we came back to class we had to crack a code. The code thing was… What happened when the egg laughed… He cracked up! The rotation I enjoyed the most was the Picasso bunnies because Haven, Shirley, and I did it together and halfway through Debbie Shirleys Mum came as well. It took a while but in the end, it looks really cool! We all had

 Today we did a Math Mystery and I worked with Haven! I enjoy working with Haven because we never really work together. We had to do five maths questions about adding and subtracting. In the end, we got Mollie! We have already done this one but I didn't remember. The hardest part was the coin question because I could not really see the coins and what there said! 

 For play make create we did a topic on our camp that we going on in two days. Tayla, Shirley, and I made a little scene on a campsite called Camp M.T.S for Marley, Shirley, and Tayla. I made a little tent and with sticks and wool. I really liked working with Tayla and Shirley because we collaborated really well. My favorite part of making the scene was the lake. I made the lake with a tooth past box and a plastic bag. I opened the box and flattened it and then stuck half the plastic bag and filled it up with water. I also put some beads and rock the made the water blue! Another favorite part of mine was the campfire because it was full of little rocks and we stapled some red and yellow cellophane together and put it in with the rocks. For grass, we pastled with three different shades of green and stuck some bushes on the ground to the sides. Tayla, Shirley, and I also pastled a night sky with a moon.  Today we did PLAY, MAKE, CREATE!!! The book was Giraffes can't dance. Lola, Shirley, and I decided to do the art task. We did a collage with colorful paper sticks and leaves. We drew a Giraffe in the middle with pastel and pencil. I had so much fun working together with Lola and Shirley. We all did some of everything. I love doing play, make, create. because sometimes I collaborate with other people or sometimes I work by myself! 

Monday was our school Swimming Sports. On the day I raced in five races and I think I did really well because I came second for freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke! I feel like I tried my best and my hardest to achieve what I have achieved! I think I used resilience and courage because I had to keep on going and not give up. What I loved about swimming sports is that I had all of my friends supporting me and cheering and stuff. And I also really liked cheering for my friends as well.        We had two art sessions this week and I had so much fun because for some random reason I love to cut things and we have done a lot of cutting and drawing. I think that I don’t do collage art style a lot so I wanted to give it a go! I really like to draw stuff to do with animals but I don’t get to do it a lot and that's why I wanted to do art with Miss Mac!   Week 4, Term 1, 2021 The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time this week is writing poems with Miss Mac because I like to write and I also like to be independent.   We started our art this week and I have chosen to do art with Miss Mac. Our art is going to be... AMAZING!!! Because I really like to collage and to cut out things and also like to draw something to do with animals!  We created our Whetū stars on Thursday and they look Awesome because my mum/ Hayley came to help me. I thought this was really fun and creative. I also thought that the time to do it was cool because my mum is a lawyer and she wouldn't have been able to come.     Next week we have our school swimming sports. I am feeling so nervous because I feel like I am a good swimmer but I don't like to compete. But the good thing is that I will be with my friends!

  Week 3, Term 1, 2021 Someone who has helped me with my learning this year is... Lexie because we did the Whetu challenge and had to be in groups and Lexie and I went together and had fun but we were also helping each other!!!   The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time is... On Friday when we dressed up in our house colors and when we did whetu challenge! We did an obstacle course and two rounds of anagrams! We did the obstacle in-house teams and I had lots of fun screaming my house color!   The most fun thing that I have done at a play or lunchtime this year is… When I play crocodile at the Big Blue with Tayla< Shirley, Scarlett, Haven, Katelyn, and Olivia T. Crocodile is a game we made when someone is in and they have to be on the ground and the person in has to try to tag us. If the person wants to get up on Big Blue they have to close their eyes!      One word that describes learning in Whetu is… So FUN because the teachers make learning so fun that we want
