Week 5, Term 1, 2021

Monday was our school Swimming Sports. On the day I raced in five races and I think I did really well because I came second for freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke! I feel like I tried my best and my hardest to achieve what I have achieved! I think I used resilience and courage because I had to keep on going and not give up. What I loved about swimming sports is that I had all of my friends supporting me and cheering and stuff. And I also really liked cheering for my friends as well.       


We had two art sessions this week and I had so much fun because for some random reason I love to cut things and we have done a lot of cutting and drawing. I think that I don’t do collage art style a lot so I wanted to give it a go! I really like to draw stuff to do with animals but I don’t get to do it a lot and that's why I wanted to do art with Miss Mac! I also wanted to draw something that means to me so I decided to do Chicken eyes and a Chicken beak.        

 

In reading this week we have been reading a book called… The Magic Finger! I am in MrsLoft/Heavens literacy group and we have been doing stuff to do The Magic Finger like summarizing and predicting. We also have a new doc it’s called or W.O.W doc. W.O.W stands for World Of Words.  


Part of our maths programme is NumBots and I think I am going well because I am up to glass! NumBots started off really easy but then it slowly got harder and harder. And once you got up to a specific level to get up to unlock challenge mode. The same happens. It started off really easy but then got harder!!

Play Make Create

 For play make create we did a topic on our camp that we going on in two days. Tayla, Shirley, and I made a little scene on a campsite called Camp M.T.S for Marley, Shirley, and Tayla. I made a little tent and with sticks and wool. I really liked working with Tayla and Shirley because we collaborated really well. My favorite part of making the scene was the lake. I made the lake with a tooth past box and a plastic bag. I opened the box and flattened it and then stuck half the plastic bag and filled it up with water. I also put some beads and rock the made the water blue! Another favorite part of mine was the campfire because it was full of little rocks and we stapled some red and yellow cellophane together and put it in with the rocks. For grass, we pastled with three different shades of green and stuck some bushes on the ground to the sides. Tayla, Shirley, and I also pastled a night sky with a moon.  This term art we did pop art Kiwiana theme pop art and I did the Four-square logo. It took time and patience to do this. I tried not to talk to the people around me but I think I did well. I really like what it came out looking like, I think my results are 7/10 because I kind of rushed it at the last minute and also I think I left some white spaces.

Roll A Story

 This week instead of doing our constellation doc we are doing our whoogle. Whoogle is our whetu google where we had all of this stuff on a slide and we have to do it. this week we had a Roll A Story for our can-dos. We had to get a dice and roll it and we had a lot of options I rolled a rabbit camp and got eaten by a snake. Here is my story...  “ Good night my lonely self” . A few minutes later... “Ahhhhh have to go to the toilet” Russel Russel “what was that? I think I will go this way instead and dig a long drop. Crack! Ahhhh! This is more creepy than I thought.
